As part of their Irish tour, Rachel Sermanni with Graham Sweeney will play in Matt Molloy's Yard Bar on Monday, 12th June.
The music of Folk-Noir Balladeer Rachel Sermanni has the flesh of Folk but, if you were to cut the skin, you’d find it pumped with contemporary, genre blended blood. Born under a rainbow in Raigmore hospital, Rachel has grown into a writer, musician and artist. In all that she creates, it seems, there remains a preservation of the pure and mystical, symbolic in that beam of fragmented light that shone, 25 sun-spun years ago.
Graham Sweeney is a singer-songwriter from Achill Island, Co. Mayo. His distinctive sound arises from a blend of traditional guitar playing, percussive finger-tapping and rhythmic vocal melodies. He is influenced by many different styles of music and his inspiration comes from a wide range of sources, from English literature and poetry to the characters he comes across in daily life.
On this nationwide tour, Rachel will be accompanied by pianist Jennifer Austin and Graham will be joined by Donegal guitarist Rhys Mc Bride. The four musicians will collaborate during the set to put their own mark on the two writers songs.
Don't miss this one! Tickets will be available on the door on the night.
